Whatever level you’re at; whatever specific skills you have or don’t have, the essentials are aptitude and attitude. If you have engineering potential, plus a keen desire to progress, you have what we are looking for.
Here are some other things we look for:
- A personal interest in programming
- Ability to learn quickly and to take on new technologies quickly
- Basic Linux knowledge
- Experience with Java or a similar object-oriented programming language
Top results will get you an interview; but we know exams are not the absolute measurement of your ability, and we recognise that a person with the best results is sometimes not as good as someone who’s genuinely interested. If your results are not top of the class, but you think Cellusys might be right for you, get in touch. We’ll give you the chance to show us why Cellusys is the place for you.
We’re good at recognising the seeds of real talent. We’ve found talented people who for reasons specific to them, were scraping a pass in their exams; we’ve trained them in internships, and seen them go back to college and win coding competitions and come out with 1.1 grades.
You’ll learn some of the latest and best software engineering practices. Git and sprints will become second nature. You’ll have the opportunity to gain advanced networking skills. Some of the technologies you'll learn include:
- Distributed data stores and processing technology
- Spring, JS frameworks, ORM frameworks
- GSM, SMS, SS7, VoIP, LTE
We will tailor your training to your skill level, and to your background. A large proportion of our engineers joined us first as interns. We know the level you’re at, and we know how to help you learn what you need to know.

Right from the start of your internship, you’ll be digging in with our current projects. You’ll be contributing towards our world-leading portfolio of software for mobile networks.
Our open-plan office gives you easy access to any of our other highly talented and experienced software engineers and technical architects – not just those you’re working with directly. We’re very approachable people. We’re always helping each other out. As an intern, you’re a member of our team. That is how you will be treated.

We don’t use machines to sort CVs. In automated selection systems, talented people fall through the cracks.
Our selection process is personable. We look over CVs. Next step is an interview. We understand interviews can be pretty unnerving for some people. We’ve designed the questions and the tasks in the interview so that, if you have talent and the drive to learn, you will get the chances you need, to show us you’ll fit in here.
You might be bursting with confidence. You might be terrified. Neither of those things will get you the internship, nor lose you it. The process is more like a conversation – two-way – so we can each find out whether we’ll work well together.
As a Cellusys DLX participant, you’ll automatically be considered for full-time positions.
We re-hire approximately 70% of our interns.
Of the others, we haven’t heard of any who are in non-development technical roles. All that we know of, are in software development.
